Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 2026 • Document Version 1.0
1. Data Collection Principles
Brackenholt is committed to privacy by design. We do not require visitors to register an account, log in, or disclose personal identifiers to explore our destinations, read journal essays, or use our journey planning tools.
2. Browser Local Storage (localStorage)
To provide practical functionality without tracking your identity, the website utilizes your browser’s local storage facility for two specific convenience features:
- Saved Bookmarks: When you bookmark a destination or experience, the item’s identifier, title, and timestamp are saved locally under
brackenholt_saved_bookmarks. - Journey Planner: When you assemble stops in the journey planner or record notes, this itinerary is saved locally under
brackenholt_trip_itinerary.
This data never leaves your personal device. It is not transmitted to our servers or accessible to third parties. You can clear this stored data at any time via your browser settings or by clicking "Clear All" in the saved items and planner interfaces.
3. Cookies and Remote Tracking
The Brackenholt static website does not set tracking cookies, session profiling cookies, or persistent marketing cookies. All font assets, stylesheets, scripts, and photography are hosted locally on the site server without connecting to third-party tracking CDNs.
4. Form Communications & Demonstration Mode
The contact and newsletter forms on this site currently operate in demonstration mode. Form submissions are validated in your browser and are not transmitted to an external inbox unless a production backend endpoint is explicitly connected by the site operator.
5. External Hyperlinks
Our travel journal and destination articles may contain reference links to public conservation agencies, geographic sources, and official park authorities. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or content of external sites.
6. Updates to This Policy
If Brackenholt implements backend processing, account systems, or analytics in the future, this privacy statement will be formally revised to detail data handling, legal bases, retention periods, and user rights in compliance with applicable data protection legislation.
7. Contact Information
Questions or requests regarding privacy practices can be submitted via our Contact Form or sent to editorial representatives via official domain channels.
